West Berkshire Brewery's Strong Ale is Champion We were delighted to learn that West Berkshire Brewery's strong ale, Dr Hexter's Healer won not one, but two medals in the 2009 Great British Beer Festival. The ale won gold in the strong ale category and then clinched bronze in the overall Champion Beer of Britain competition. The branch presented certificates to mark the achievements on Tuesday the 9th of February in the brewery's Stockcross pub, The Rising Sun. The event was packed with locals, regulars and other well-wishers and was covered by the local press.
