The branch were really excited to be given the opportunity of an evening of Shepherd Neame ales, presented by Shepherd Neame Brewery Director Ian Dixon. The evening was held at the Good Beer Guide listed Fox in Hermitage, a pub that always has Shep's Spitfire and Master Brew on tap, and Ian brought along three other Shep beers to try; Whitstable Bay Organic Ale, Bishop's Finger and 1698 bottled conditioned beer. Ian also brought along the very interesting Stone's Ale from California based Stone Brewery, which the Stone's brewers have been making in Shep's brewery especially for the Wetherspoon's real ale festival. Needless to say a great time was had by all and the branch would like to say a big thank you to Ian and his wife, Pam, and wish them both all the best for Ian's forthcoming retirement later this year.
