We helped to try to break the world's biggest toast record!!! Members of the West Berkshire branch of CAMRA joined other drinkers at the Lion in West Street, Newbury on Saturday the 11th of April to help break the world record for the biggest toast. The event was the culmination of Cask Ale Week which is a week long series of events designed to promote Britain’s national drink, “traditional draught beer”.
The evening began in the Lock Stock and Barrel on Northbrook Street where this fine Fuller's pub had a range on 6 ales on draught including Jive Bunny from Springhead brewery alongside Fuller favourites such as ESB and the excellent London Porter.

All in all 54 drinkers raised their glasses to Real Ale. These numbers will be submitted to the Cask Ale Week website and we hope to find out whether we helped break the record in due course.
